This checkpoint entails our brainstorming and research phase. We expanded on original ideas and detailed specific concepts.

Game Mechanics

In this checkpoint, we focused on our game mechanics. 

Since our game is a deck-building card game, our game mechanics are bounded by our resources, or cards. 

We found the players action summarized by:

Draw Cards → Play Cards (Damage, Defense, Scaling, Utility) → Auction for Cards → Remove Cards from Deck

Loop

Through our game mechanics, we concluded that our core gameplay loop would be described by two cyclic phases.​

PHASE 1

Auction for Cards → Remove Unwanted Cards from Deck

PHASE 2

Draw your hand → Play Cards → Pass Turn
