Pre-Alpha Release

Development Process

Our journey to the Pre-Alpha release was a collaborative effort, marked by unique innovation across all departments. Here, we detail the contributions of each team and share glimpses into our studio's hard work through images and video clips that capture the essence of our game development process.

Programming Team

Led by Bobby, Chase, and Evan, the programming team quickly transformed concepts into tangible gameplay mechanics. They tackled complex tasks such as character movements, enemy attack patterns, and UI development. From refining shield mechanics to implementing intuitive sprint directions, their problem-solving skills were instrumental in bringing 'Introspection' to life. In this particular release, we enhanced enemy AI and VFX, refined main and pause menus with focus on key remapping for accessibility, and building on player interactions/movement to be more innovative.

Narrative Team

The narrative team, spearheaded by Ethan, wove the fabric of our game's story. They crafted the compelling tale of Daniel, ensuring each plot point seamlessly integrated within the gameplay. Their collaborative efforts in creating dialogues and story beats added depth and immersion, making this project not just a game but a narrative experience.​

Sound Team

Caleb recognized the pivotal role of audio in crafting an immersive gaming environment. His expertise led to the creation of a diverse collection of sound effects and the composition of intricate auditory landscapes that underscore every movement and backdrop within 'Introspection.' With an unwavering focus on sonic detail, Caleb guaranteed a harmonious and engrossing auditory experience.

Building upon the sound library established in the previous release, Caleb was the cornerstone of the sound team, steering the project's progression with project management skills. He adeptly navigated across various teams, fostering seamless communication and ensuring that all members were synchronized in their efforts. His leadership not only reinforced team unity but also propelled the project forward with clarity and vision.

​Level Design Team

Chris took on the challenge of crafting engaging levels that balance aesthetics with playability. Through meticulous planning and sketching, Chris, Bobby, and Ethan structured the game's three acts, focusing on player engagement and pacing. Their designs provide the canvas on which the narrative and gameplay elements come to life.

Art Team

The art team, with Shakir at the helm, infused 'Introspection' with visual flair that supports and enhances the storytelling. He consistently iterated on their concept art, character designs always taking regular feedback to refine their artistic direction. In this release, he focused on refining the concept art for Adelaine and other initial concepts.
